A passage to delight the heart, and free Bible with Strongs

Continuing the theme of the week, I’d like to share a Bible passage that leads me to delight in the Lord.
It is David’s prayer from 1 Chronicles 29:10-13.

10 David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,

“Praise be to you, Lord,
    the God of our father Israel,
    from everlasting to everlasting.
11 Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
    and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
    for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
    you are exalted as head over all.
12 Wealth and honor come from you;
    you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
    to exalt and give strength to all.
13 Now, our God, we give you thanks,
    and praise your glorious name.

I got this quote with the assistance of the very helpful Biblegateway.com.

I’d like to let you know about a promotion going on at another Bible website.  Olive Tree is a great app for mobile devices.  You can purchase and download the Bible on your phone or tablet for reading and studying on the go.  Olive Tree often has sales and even gives away books.  Right now, they are offering the ESV Bible with Strong’s for free if you share the giveaway on Facebook or Twitter.  The ESV Bible with Strong’s is very useful, since the Strong’s numbers and definitions are embedded in the file.  All you do is click on the word you want to know more about and voila, you get the definition of the Greek or Hebrew in a pop-up window on your app.  I know how useful it is for Bible study, because I bought the ESV with Strong’s for myself at Christmas time.  Now, it is free to you.  Check it out at OliveTree.com.

Preach the Gospel to Yourself, 2

In the video I mentioned yesterday, Paul Tripp recommends gazing upon the beauty of the Lord every morning. He mentions these chapters: Isaiah 40, the last few chapters of Job, and Ephesians 1. What passages of Scripture do you read when you want to meditate on the beauty of the Lord?
